It has amazed me each year how much our creek on our land changes. Trees fall. The waters rise. The soil moves. I have determined over the years, the stream has actually moved some 30 feet towards us. Wonderful beaches of sand show up seemingly over night. Then they move away, as if having never been. Once a huge sycamore tree fell that appeared it would be a permanent structure for years and years to come. The base of that marvelous tree was 8 feet in diameter. The soil erroded underneath it's roots to tumble it perfectly straight accross the creek sides. Never would I have believed that within 2 weeks it would vanish, out of sight, down stream. All simply amazing!
